  Born on July 28th, 1974 to a military family, Ryan Michael McKnight entered the world in Asmara, Eritrea, Ethiopia making him as he jokes "the whitest African-American you'll ever know in your life". His mom, Jeanette O'Keefe-McKnight was considered an "Army wife" who stayed by his father, Evan McKnight throughout every tour he had as Sargent in the Army. Ryan is sarcastic, but in a good way. He's a singer at heart but knows his life is in teaching now. Ryan is a down to earth guy who can relate to his students. Ryan is still a youngster so he'll do whatever it takes to earn the respect of his students, especially those who think English is the most boring class of the day. Ryan loves to laugh and have fun, but he can also establish who is the one in charge in his classroom and life. Ryan has a small drinking problem, but he can control it, guess it's not really a problem then huh? He occasionally drinks and parties but sometimes he does it too much.
 Ryan is a friendly guy, he loves his students, they're the "youth of the nation" and because he's such a kid at heart, he relates to his students so much. Ryan doesn't have many actual friends that he still talks to now that he's buried under papers and work, but sometimes you sacrifice what you can always obtain for an actual job and life.
 He's a cool guy, enemies don't come natural to him. To be an enemy, just try and tell him how to live his life. Ryan's had enough of that being from an Army based family.
 His last relationship went down the drain so he's not in a rush for love, but if it happens then so be it. Maybe Ryan's downfall is that he actually likes girls and he's an instant charmer that he's had a few students have a "high school crush" on him, but he'd never pursue it.....right? Well, you know the saying, never say never.
