Ryan is sarcastic, but in a good way. He's a singer at heart but knows his life is in teaching now. Ryan is a down to earth guy who can relate to his students. Ryan is still a youngster so he'll do whatever it takes to earn the respect of his students, especially those who think English is the most boring class of the day. Ryan loves to laugh and have fun, but he can also establish who is the one in charge in his classroom and life. Ryan has a small drinking problem, but he can control it, guess it's not really a problem then huh? He occasionally drinks and parties but sometimes he does it too much.


appearance:

Blue eyed, brown hair and standing at five foot ten inches. Ryan works out, so he has a pretty good physique, he's actually around 170 pounds in mainly muscle. His hair can be found either short (which he had when he first started teaching) or slightly shaggy and long but always kept clean. He has a slight beard or a light five o'clock shadow on his face but it fits him.


history:

Born on July 28th, 1974 to a military family, Ryan Michael McKnight entered the world in Asmara, Eritrea, Ethiopia making him as he jokes "the whitest African-American you'll ever know in your life". His mom, Jeanette O'Keefe-McKnight was considered an "Army wife" who stayed by his father, Evan McKnight throughout every tour he had as Sargent in the Army. Ryan and his family came home to Nashville shortly after he was born and when he reached the age of five, his baby sister, Erin was born.

Ryan tried his hand in singing and becoming a star at the age of eighteen, against his father's hopes and wishes he'd go to the military just like he did. After spending one year in New York, Ryan went back home to his family and enrolled in college. From there he decided he needed to live his own life. Ryan attended the University of Ohio where he majored in English and minored in Arts/Theater. After graduating with his degree and loving Ohio a lot more than Nashville, the country boy moved to Ohio and stayed.

Working odd jobs here and there, even working some construction, when Ryan turned 36, he landed his first teaching gig in Lima, Ohio as the substitute English teacher while the current teacher was recovering from surgery. The kids loved him and his ways of teaching that he moved from temporary to permenent English teacher.

other: Ryan was once engaged, but the engagement didn't work out, he was only thirty-three at the time but still longs for love in his life.
