This is what I assume she would sound like.
The girl talks for about 16 seconds so skip those.
She had never planned to audition-even if she had brought the song she was going to sing (that was a last minute addition). She had just been there to observe, to merely listen to the beautiful voices. Yet she simplycouldn't ignore the tiny little voice in her head shouting 'You have a pretty voice, too'. Yeah, like she would ever listen to that voice.
So when her stupid feet drug her onto the stupid stage, Sapphire Lewis was going to protest, she was going to say that she didn't sing(at least not in public), and that she was simply in the wrong place. But then, her mouth had taken her brain hostage and had refused to let it go.
Licking her lips nervously, Sapphire looked around. Then she shook herself out of her nervousness, a determined expression setting on her face. "Hello, I'm Sapphire. Seventeen and not unknown" She laughed. "At least I hope I'm not. I will be singing Monster by Paramore" She could do this. She knew she could. She had sung this song plenty of times and she was pretty sure she had it down.
The familiar intro began to play and Sapphire allowed a small smile to appear on her lips as she closed her eyes. With the intro ending, she opened her eyes and began to sing.
You were my conscience, so solid, now you're like water
And we started drowning, not like we'd sink any further
But I let my heart go, it's somewhere down at the bottom
But I'll get a new one and come back for the hope that you've stolen
The first verse had always been her favorite. Maybe it was because the lyrics were so true to her life.
I'll stop the whole world, I'll stop the whole world
From turning into a monster and eating us alive
Don't you ever wonder how we survive?
Well now that you're gone, the world is ours
Ahhh... The Chorus. So refreshingly full of anger. Tapping her long, slim fingers against her denim jeans, Seph paused to take a breath. One more verse and one more chorus and she was done.
I'm only human, I've got a skeleton in me
But I'm not the villain, despite what you're always preaching.
Call me a traitor, I'm just collecting your victims
And they're getting stronger
I hear them calling.
She gazed at all the faces in the crowd. Gosh, there were a lot people there. Didn't they have lives? And she had been one of those people. So the obvious answer to that question was: No. The chorus and she was done.
I'll stop the whole world, I'll stop the whole world
From turning into a monster, and eating us alive
Don't you ever wonder how we survive?
Well now that you're gone, the world is ours
The last note echoed through the auditorium as she held it. Now all she had to do was wait for the reaction. Tapping her Conversed foot, Sapphire waited for an opinion.
