Mercedes grinned as she wandered around the church, not really going anywhere in particular; she was simply enjoying her time, her summer. Especially now that she wasn’t as lonely as she was, it was weird to her, all of what was going on with Sam, but she liked it. Finally someone was respecting her for who she was and actually told her that she was beautiful without even being paid or asked by a friend to go to her. It brought her a new refreshing feeling she wondered about if she would ever be able to shake off some days. However, being in love and in vacation didn’t mean that she had to lazy around for the New Directions. The Glee club needed her and she was going to perform a song that would shove everyone off their chairs while hearing how amazing she would sound. What song? She had no clues yet. There were a few successes she had been wanting to sing recently, and practiced as well in case it would be needed for her future representations. For example, I Will Survive from Gloria Gaynor, or any songs from Tina Turner. She needed to pick a good choice of song if she wanted to show Rachel Berry what she could do. Of course, they were friends, but she knew quite well that there couldn’t have two divas in one group, and that she was going to be the one diva. Maybe this time she would have to perform a solo in any regonial, sectional or national! She was certain that her team would win if they heard her amazing voice. Then it came to her mind; how about a Beyonce song? She grinned thinking about Halo. That was certainly an amazing song! People would find it odd to see a teenager wandering around the church, aimlessly. But she was practicing and singing with the choir and they had been over since about ten minutes. And she simply thought that the room had the perfect acoustic for her to practice; she knew quite well that people wouldn’t even be bothered by her singing. So she went on the stage, staring at the empty seats for a few moments before she began singing with her powerful voice echoing through the church. “Remember those walls I built? Well, baby they're tumbling down And they didn't even put up a fight They didn't even make a sound I found a way to let you in But, I never really had a doubt Standing in the light of your halo I got my angel now It's like I've been awakened Every rule I had you breakin' It's the risk that I'm taking I ain't never gonna shut you out! Everywhere I'm looking now I'm surrounded by your embrace Baby, I can see your halo You know you're my saving grace You're everything I need and more It's written all over your face Baby, I can feel your halo Pray it won't fade away I can feel your halo I can see your halo I can feel your halo I can see your halo Halo, ooh ooh.....”

Kurt was on the edge of his seat as he was waiting to watch the final result of this week's episode of RuPaul's Drag U- the summer hit on the Logo channel. His stepbrother, Finn, never understood the glamour and pizazz this show held. But to Kurt, it was amazing and inspiring- the sheer message of being at your lowest then climbing back up to the top of that hill of confidence. Surely it blew minds to see how these ladies started out and how they ended up after attending the "university". He was plopping grapes in his mouth without any more thoughts- immensed full in his program. Oh, Manila. You're so glamorous. He thought, but inhaled sharply as the drag professor slipped off the seat during choreography practice. Almost swallowing a grape whole, and choking for a few seconds, he took a long sip from the cool water glass in front of him. The boy then giggled as the commentary from one of the women was switched in the next clip. Oh, surely that would be sure to shake someone's confidence. Your idol falling on their behinds? Great esteem booster. Brava, Miss Luzon.
Just then, his iPhone resounded with a vibrate then a ding, making him jump in slight surprise. Was Blaine already done with that shower? He was almost positive his boyfriend spent at least a good ten and maybe more minutes because he knew for a fact that they both had a habit of singing/having mini concerts in their showers. Typing in his passbode before sliding the bar on the screen, he read that it was Mercedes, asking him to meet her at... her church? Wrinkling his nose in confusion, Kurt read the text to make sure he was reading it correctly and he wasn't just imagining it. Of all places... a church? Were they going to pray? Kurt thought that he made it clear- his ideas and thoughts concerning God and religion. His father was doing much better than before, there was nothing really of a major threat at the moment. Why would he need to be in attendance at the place of worship? A time ago, he remembered attending a mass with his best friend, and was indeed uplifted by the heart and of course- Mercedes's fabulous take on song.
But he still, even after that ordeal, made quite a distance between himself and theology in general. He never gave much thought to the afterlife- that is, in regards to himself. His late mother, however, he really did hope she was in a nice place. No. Wait. He was sure of it. It had to be so. Still, Kurt nodded his head and didn't bother to text back, "Why?", putting full trust into Mercedes. He might as well just TiVo this episode of Drag U and watch it later, turning off the flat screen with a slight huff as Manila's face vanished from view. He dusted off the knees of his navy blue skinny jeans, and looked about for his beige cardigan. Finding it amongst the couch pillows, he easily slipped it on and walked into the Hummel kitchen, finding his special stack of post-it notes. Taking a Sharpie marker, he wrote: 'Gone to meet with Mercedes, be back before dinner! - Kurt. Sure, he could always just text his parents and Finn about his location and whereabouts, but he had taken a liking towards this more personal notice.
He walked out of the house after picking up a sleek, light leather handbag, locking the door behind him. His Navigator was in front of him and he slipped inside- driving off to the church in another area of town. He easily found a aprking spot- the church wasn't packed like it was last time with normal prayer goers. Pushing through the doors is where he found Mercedes belting out like usual, and Kurt sneakily took a seat in one of the pews near the back. He watched as his best friend poured her heart out and proudly stood up in the best applause he could muster, beaming with pride.
"Well, I must say Ms. Jones. You've outdone yourself this time. Just when I thought your talent was mindblowing to start with." Kurt skipped up the aisle to the altar where his friend was standing, wrapping his arms around her in a comforting hug. "It has been too long since we've seen each other last. What a peculiar place to meet, however." He gestured to his surroundings, hands folded behind him.

Mercedes loved the acoustic the church had; the voice could be travelling so much faster, resonate and make a wonderful way to success. She loved practicing her singing there, that way she was in touch with her voice, knowing how strong it could sound and practice with the choir at the same time. She may seem like too much of a believer but hey, the church was one of the most peaceful places there had in this town so why not spend a little time out there? At least she could still talk unlike a library where you had to be quiet all the time. She had told her friend Kurt, to meet her out there via a text message. She was fully aware that he wasn’t a believer, and that God didn’t matter much to him but she thought it would be a neat and quiet place and besides, if they ever wanted to sing together well, they could give it a shot and no one would be bothered by them- she was aware that quite a lot of people who worked in the church loved her voice and told her she was a real diva, so it did sound alright in her eyes. She finished the last sentences of her song, grinning as she saw her best friend, bowing at him as he applauded. Her grin grew larger as she approached him, opening her arms large for a hug. “I have to perform if I want to hit a solo next year! Rachel Berry will be shaken off by this performance; I have wanted to do it for a sectional or a regional.” She told to Kurt, hugging him back tightly as she was glad to see him again for they hadn’t spoken to each other since ages it seemed. They had a lot to catch up on and perhaps he was to be in right to know about the little fling that was going on with Sam. She gave him a soft smile as he talked about the place they had to meet, she nodded slightly. “I had to practice earlier with the choir, and I thought it would be a great place to share our lives, I have been wanting to tell you a lot of things! I just didn’t have the time to call you.” She explained brightly, wondering about what his thoughts would be about her relationship with Sam, but for now, she was going to ask news of his side, expecting that he had as well a lot of things to tell her; she was excited! “How have things been for you? Blain is doing alright? Gosh, I missed talking to you so much! You wouldn’t know what is happening to me at the moment!” She said in a rush speaking so fast that it seemed she didn’t take the time to breathe between the words she was saying. She let out a small laugh before looking at Kurt. “Sorry, want to take a seat?” She asked him gesturing the various free benches there had available for them.

Kurt laughed in Mercedes' embrace, "Well, that makes the two of us, right?" he winked, "We're both going to try and rip that solo from her hands."
He thought that he lucked out having a duet with Blaine at last year's regionals competition- as well as prior and after that performance. Kurt could not be more proud of himself. He remembered being so nervous before the curtains were raised, asking his singing partner if anyone had fainted or thrown-up mid-song. 'Candles' was indeed an emotional rollercoaster. It was all so symbolic in a way, and it meant so much more considering it was Blaine's choice of an emotional piece. A chosen song. For him. For them. In the misdt of Pavarotti's death, it seemed thatt he birht of their relationship came into focus. All this time- Kurt has been waiting, and hoping for Blaine to have feelings back to reciprocate. There was many a night when he would stay up and listen to Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' on repeat, mouthing every word of the song, trying to over analyze what it all meant since their first meeting together. They were so evenly matched- their flaws and strengths complementing the other's.
Blaine helped Kurt dig up deep inside and find the immense power courage and bravery had. Kurt likes looking back often and seeing how much he grew up as a person. On the outside, he still remained that fierce stylist who jutted his hip out while crossing his arms to give an 'oh really?' at something he felt the need to comment with something witty.
"Oh, a choir." Kurt nodded his head, still not very into the whole 'church' deal, but smiled nonetheless, "The church? A place to share our lives?" he just had to give that a laugh, "Oh, I'm sure that your god will be pleased to hear about Blaine and my escapades together. You better try and protect me if I get smited on the spot." He nudged his friend teasingly, and continued, "Then tell me! I'm here! Why waste any more of our precious time?"
Clapping his hands together once, he took a seat beside her on an empty bench. He was about to sit on one of the psalm books and scooted it beside him, being careful. He wasn't religious, but who said anything about him being unappreciative of Mercedes's effort and being disrespectful? He wondered what he should talk to Mercedes about first- there have been so many things going on, he could in no way choose just one. Romance with Blaine aside, he knew that his romance was not the center of their world- they were seniors now. With the SAT coming up, he was taking pre-tests online, and attending seminars to help him get the best grade possible that school year so that his admittance to the Fashion Institute in New York would not only be based on his talent, but the fact that he was hard-working and successful student. He even considered himself a work-a-holic, constantly working, failing at being unproductive. Even a simple activity of watching TV was considered working, he had a notepad on the coffee table of the fabrics used on Drag U, things he wanted to try up for next next week's outfits. (Only because he already plans outfits a week in advance.)
"Things have been wonderful, you don't even know. Blaine's fine, we're dealing with the distance fairly well. We skype and talk on the phone and text like crazy you wouldn't imagine. You could say he's my ultimate distraction from that summer reading I have to cram this week." Kurt let out a dreamy sigh, as much as he hated admitting his very weak attention span in accordance to Blaine, it was the truth.

Mercedes grinned as Kurt told her that they’d both be stealing Rachel’s spot. That’s when it hit her; they should do a duet! Their voices were amazing together! She remembered while they had done Five Minutes from Madona and it was so awesome to sing along with her best friend; the thought of doing it again but in front of a crowd of people for Regionals or Sectionals or even better; Nationals, was just awesome! “We should have a duet!” She proposed clasping her hands together loving the idea.
She smiled at Kurt softly, knowing quite well that he wasn’t so comfortable about hanging out in a church, but she simply knew that it would be the best place to discuss about life wouldn’t it? God was always following her around and even if Kurt didn’t believe in the big man, she knew, deep in her heart that he would still support him, no matter his gender, no matter his sexuality even if some people weren’t quite agreeing with it. She respected him more than anyone else and shared a wonderful friendship along with him.
Anyone would be offended by his comment, as he spoke about God, but she knew that he wasn’t serious...well, she knew his thoughts but she also knew that he respected his believes just as much as she respected his so there weren’t anything much to worry about there. She wasn’t so sure however, about how she should bring up the kind of relationship she was having with Sam. They had both agreed that it would remain a secret but she knew that she could trust Kurt over this; besides, last time they had seen them at the café, she wondered about if he and Blaine had noticed anything.
She took a seat next to Kurt, listening to him as he talked about Blaine. She chuckled; he was so cute when he was like that, it almost made her want to hug him. Another giggle escaped her lips, happy that their relationship was topping the perfection. “I am so happy for you Kurt, you found someone!” She smiled broadly before her gaze drifted away, staring at the empty stage of the church.
“I have to say, things have been going quite well...” she began unsure about how to tell Kurt such a secret; it was after all, the first time that something like this happened to her so she was new to this situation. “...with Sam.” She blinked, her gaze shifting back to Kurt almost fearing his reaction.

"I see no problem with that idea. Mr. Schue should allow it for the next round of auditions for solos. I already have a couple songs in mind that we could try out." This was too exciting- he knows that with both of their vocal ranges put together, it would sound like a blast of harmonics and melodies that people couldn't even fathom the musical genius going on the stage.
Scratch the other thought. Blaine was not the ultimate distraction from Kurt- it was music as well. He would remember all those times when he would be reading over a passage in his studies and suddenly a song lyric would come to mind- and then he'd start singing. He wouldn't stop. The one-song performance would become a concert complete with a set-list to warm up his voice for no apparent reason. It was the summer, and show choir was to start in the fall once again. Last night was no exception- through reading Charles Dickens's 'A Tale of Two Cities', he would break out the complete soundtrack from Les Mis, playing all the parts respectively, with attempted choreography and little monologues he knew from the show in between. Now if only Rachel had been over, maybe he would have done less of the work because she knew the musical by heart as well.
Of course Mercedes was happy for him, he thought about the agonizing summer before junior year when he was openly wondering about when of if he would ever find love. It was that particular summer when he was reading romance books and tryong them out for a change, dreaming of the day some handsome man would sweep him off his feet. But Kurt was patient.... for the most part. He saw men jogging for a work-out along his block and his heart would break a little bit upon seeing their girlfriend job alongside of them, Guys who looked like that, wouldn't even take a second glance at him because they were... obviously straight. But that day he walked through the Dalton Academy hall with his soon-to-be boyfriend, he was glad none of those boys did. Those jocks were probably more obsessed with their gym schedules and would have paid no attention to him. Those times when he and Blaine would sing in the car were priceless.
As he listened to Mercedes chatter about how good things were- he gave an approving nod. But froze when she finished off the statement with the name, 'Sam'. "Glee club 'Sam'? Sam with-the-lemon-dye-in-his-hair-to-make-it-blonde? He paused, trying to let the information register, but then he relaxed into an expression that didn't show much surprise. "If I recollect correctly, I remember you two danced at prom? And did that whole... 'prom on a budget' thing with Rachel? Did something happen then?" He queried, eyebrow raised.

Mercedes nodded agreeing with Kurt. She didn’t see why they couldn’t have a duet together. She simply knew that their voices put together were sounding amazing. They could easily sweep Rachel out of the spotlight for a Regional, or a Sectional or even a National. Now that Jesse wasn’t around anymore, she knew that they could make it; he couldn’t destroy the ambiance of the Glee club and he couldn’t play around so he could set Rachel on the stage, having the main spot to get to win her heart over again. She was hoping that this entire drama was going to be over. Sure, back at the ball he was rather, somewhat pleasant but it was only one night and when he called her a lazy B-O-N-E-S, which wasn’t true at all, he had her on his back for the rest of his life. She was a Diva, she didn’t always have to practice constantly. She could be a hard worker but when she was feeling the song deep down, she knew she could blow away people’s ego with her voice. She knew she was talented and she also knew that no one could put barriers in front of her. Even Jesse wasn’t able to, but obviously Mr. Schue agreed with him and gave the spot to Rachel onto a silver plate.
Having another duet with Kurt was thrilling her; when they did the song with Madona, she just couldn’t ask for a better partner. Their voices, their talent, it wasn’t even compared to anyone, not even Rachel, even if the girl was the ‘star’ and talented as well. She knew that with their association, they could be a hundred times better than her and they were going to prove it next year. Kurt seemed to agree with her on that and they would have to pick up the song they’d want to show off, to amaze the entire club.
“I'm sure he won’t see an objection to see us try out, besides, we both have talent and reunited, we’ll sound better than we did when we sang Madona.” She said with a grin. “We’re definitely going to win the spot, I’m not even scared of this.” She told Kurt confidently. They both were fighters and they weren’t going to stay on their side nicely obeying to Rachel Berry stealing all of the best solos. She wanted to shine and shining along with Kurt couldn’t be any better.
A shy smile appeared onto her lips as Kurt seemed to cope the news, once she told her that she was with Sam. Well, she didn’t say it directly but she thought that Kurt would get it. She would’ve told Sam that she was going to tell him but he was always so busy with his work, whenever she tried to give him a call he was off. She would have to tell him soon after all, they both agreed on keeping it secret for a while but she thought she was ready to let her best friend to know it. They never lied to each other and it wasn’t about now she was going to start doing so.
She gave a nod as he stated she went with Sam and Rachel on a three people date, since they both didn’t have anyone to join them. At first she thought it would be awkward but a certain event changed everything. “We could say that, Sam and I are together...dating.” she finished wanting to make sure that he got the message right. She looked up at the ceiling of the church, waiting for Kurt’s opinion about this.

Kurt has to let it sink in, take time to register. It seemed to all come rather quickly even though they had a whole summer behind them. He remembered when he first saw Sam and thought that the teen was gay because of that bright sheen and sure products in his hair, but alas- again his gaydar failed and he wasn't up for pushing or pulling a straight man into his field. But needless to say, he was quelled when he was put up with the task of letting the boy do the duet with someone else- because no one should have to face that immediate humiliation upon entering a school you had no knowledge about in regards to the 'unspoken rules'. Kurt considered this like the situation from last year, making a small sacrifice for the team as well as himself. It wouldn't hurt as much if he just let it go. Besides- who in the world would he take to Breadsticks anyway? There was no boyfriend, no Blaine in his life at the current moment... but for the love of all that is Gaga, he knew that he and Sam would have blasted that Duets assignment out of the water.
But what was the whole big deal about two young men duetting? He saw how Santana and Mercedes got their powerhouse number... but Kurt instantly knew that at the top of his head, the true reason why it seemed so wrong. People thought that just because he was gay, he would fall for every single guy he came close to- which was not the case, but whatever. It was all old news now, and a thing of the past. Kurt has had a pretty good year and streak since then and he had no intention of breaking that. This year, he planned on moving onto bigger and better things- and reaching for those goals he had planned out this summer. A Duet with Mercedes for Nationals seemed extremely plausible and wanted to work at it to make it a reality. It was time for other people in their club to have their voices heard. Rachel was undoubtedly one of the most talented singers and Finn's voice sounded nice with it- but it was time for others to shine.
It was all so much fun for them all anyway- and he was sure no war would be started if he decided to boot Rachel to the side for a couple of minutes to sing something because a smile would be apparent on both of their faces.
"Oh, I'm so happy for you 'Cedes. You guys looked really sweet dancing at prom together while I was busy trying to figure out what cologne Blaine had on."
Kurt didn't dare go any further, because he knew he would blush all over again. That prom he spent a good fraction of the night just making as much body contact with Blaine as possible, not fully believing that they were there. Together. As a couple. He remembered burying his nose in the crook of his boyfriend's neck, inhaling the sweet masculine and spell inducing scent that was very different from his own. They were pretty tight knit- Kurt half expected to fall over, overwhelmed. Blaine would try to catch him no doubt- and it would be very dramatic and like all the soft light-hearted romance books he's read and he'd be in his arms at the perfect dip. He was brought back to earth by scooting closer to his best friend.
"So, spill. Tell me all the details. I want to know how this all started for you. It's about time you told me. I would have been so hurt if you kept it from me any longer." He put a hand over his heart and pouted slightly, blinking his eyes a couple times for sympathy.

Mercedes wasn’t certain about how Kurt would react to the news but she knew that she could count on her friend’s support. He had always been there for her even when she was having her difficult times with the diet. Oh, those were horrid days, but it did inspire her to sing Beautiful in front of the entire school along with the rest of the Glee club who joined her later on. She was touched by Quinn who joined her on the scene, but she knew that she had Kurt’s support all the time she was there, suffering without eating any sweets-god it was torture but thankfully it was done and they had been through almost everything together.
Sure, at first she used to have a crush on Kurt, even if it was rather obvious that he was homosexual. All of this because of how Santana put things up, eh, sometimes the girl was hard to catch up on but still, the issues with Kurt only brought them closer. She respected him (even if she did break a window of his car for he broke her heart) when she got over him which didn’t take much time for they were having too much of a tight relationship to give it away over something as silly as this. Kurt was the sweetest guy as a friend she could find on earth. He and Blaine were the perfect match; they completed each other and they were all over each other. A smile graced her lips at the thought as she looked at him coping the news of her dating Sam. Even if it was just a fling, Mercedes was having the feeling that this relationship with Sam was going to be deeper than any relationship she had had before. Then again, she didn’t have many; Puck was just for a show case and then…There weren’t anyone else.
A small giggle escaped her lips at Kurt’s comment, stating that they looked cute at the prom; they surely had fun out there, well, she did, after Sam told her that she was beautiful, which touched more than she thought it would. No one before told her that other than Kurt but it was only in a friendship manner obviously.
Her giggle became louder as he talked about Blaine and she nudged him teasingly. “Hey I can’t blame you, Blaine is cute.” She said smiling at him.
Did Kurt really want to know how it all started? She wasn’t sure about where to start, he knew already of the date along with Rachel but where it really started was at the prom, while they were dancing together. “You know when I was left on the tables alone, I was bored and I was considering leaving but Sam came to me and said that I was beautiful before asking me to dance.” She explained him mentally thanking God for giving her a dark skin because she was blushing. “Can you imagine it? He was really thinking those words and no one paid him to tell me that!” Even Mercedes had troubles into thinking that it was a reality; maybe she was just going crazy over this but it was a first she wasn’t about to forget.

"Cute is an understatement." Blaine was definitely more than cute.
How about drop-dead handsome? He remembered feeling so overhwlemed when they first met, when they shook hands. That hallway? He even looked really nice from the back of his gelled and perfectly groomed head. Kurt definitely fell into that cycle of 'I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you leave.' Physical attraction meant so much more when they were already connected on an emotional level. It seemed like Kurt just needed to get more comfortable with that stuff before they'd be completely solid as a couple. Kurt always seemed to flail internally when Blaine would wrap his arms around him, it was similar to how he reacted to when his favorite couple kissed on Pretty Little Liars.
At the description of how it all started, he couldn't help but swoon and lock their elbows together once more while he leaned his head on her shoulder, humming in delight of how wonderful and happy he was for his best friend. His nose wrinkled at the slight weird putting of her words, specifically with the 'no one even had to pay him to say it'. To be honest, the statement sounded kind of pathetic, and he genuinely felt for her. His lips pouted a little bit but the sides of his lips were upturned into a soft smile.
"Of course he wasn't paid. Sam's a good person, I know it. Won't manipulate you like Puck..." He lowered his tone, "Or pull you into some drama fiasco triangle of sorts like Finn. Ugh- that was just plain ridiculous."
Mercedes was one of his dearest friends, and loved that she was finally with someone who would make her happy. He remembered all those times when she would longingly look down the hallway, wishing she were with someone to hold her in a romantic way. Sophomore year, he had his very closeness with girls approach taken in a different direction when she thought they were an item. Of course, that was completely misread. He knew Sam had his own faults as well, and received insider texts while at Dalton on all the scoop and drama going on back at him home school. It seemed too juicy for him to stay away from. That whole Santana thing a while back was very shady of Sam, he had to judge. Some of the relationships at McKinley reminded him of a microcosm of Hollywood, and he never wanted out. Kurt was just happy he knew he had Blaine, a gentleman through and through to help him through this jungle. He knew Blaine had his own problems- one of them notably with back-handed comments that hurt his feelings, but not intended for that purpose.
"But if he ever hurts you, he'll be face to face with a curling iron. Up his nose, or something." He teased, but showing his support on how Mercede shouldn't be like some of the girls in the New Directions who just sat around while their world curmbled before them. "Because if you're ever wronged, just know you deserve better."

Mercedes simply smiled, happy that Kurt had finally found his second half. She knew quite well how it had been hell before, with him being alone well, not totally alone since she would always be there for him but not having a second half? She couldn’t wish for any better for Kurt; he deserved the best and she thought that it was what Blaine was to him. He made him happy, and they looked so amazing together that there weren’t any other words to describe them other than perfect soul mates. She was hoping for Kurt that it would last forever; he deserved the love that he had been craving for since ages by now. She knew that he dreamed of the prince charming and Blaine was right there to fill up the empty spot for too many years. “Of course, he is handsome right?” She asked him with a chuckle as she stared at him for a few moments before looking in front of her, as she thought about Sam, and about how things were starting to be better for her as well.
If anyone told her that she would end up with Sam in the beginning of the year, she would’ve told them to back off and not believe the people. She knew that they were an unexpected couple, and the fact that the color of her skin might get to have people looking at them in a different way, or the fact that Sam uses to be in the football team and she was just an aspiring diva. Everything seemed to bring them to opposite poles but yet, they managed to grow as close as this and it made her sigh contently.
She nodded as Kurt replied to when she said that he wasn’t paid. She knew that it wasn’t too ‘bright’ to state something like that but she couldn’t help but feel like that sometimes. As if people were forced to compliment her…however, things turned out to be different and she embraced it fully. “Yeah, I can barely believe how I ended up with Puck, I feel sorry for the next girl.” She said shaking her head lightly but then laughed lightly as he talked about Finn. “Hey, I’m a diva; I don’t want someone who would steal the attention away from me.” She joked winking at him playfully. She gave to his arm that was linked with hers a hug smiling warmly at her dearest friend.
She rested her head onto Kurt’s shoulder as he continued speaking. He was right, if she ever was wronged by Sam, she knew that she deserved better; she always thought so. She was dealing with her own life and people shouldn’t interfere with it and even less if it’s to try to change who she truly was. “Don’t worry; I have plenty of tricks to make him pay if it’s the case.” She joked though, knowing quite well that she wouldn’t let it go away that easily if it was truly the case.

"Undoubtedly handsome. I was lucky that another one of the Dalton gays didn't pick him up before I did." Kurt chuckled, but thought about his statement, "Well, he more or less picked me up... because he initiated it when he kissed me, not the other way around... but I did tell him first about how I felt on Valentine's day if that struck any chord in him, it could have helped in him realizing his affections for me." It was truly something to ponder over later, he was still in awe of his and Blaine's beautiful relationship- he could swear that stars came across his eyes. He hoped they matched whatever he was wearing today.
Kurt listened to her for a bit to describe Puck and Finn in her own way and turned it around in his mind to how he felt about it. He was so glad that Finn never fell for his 'traps' back when he was absolutely smitten with the Quarterback. He was ecstatic that now they had this very supportive and understanding brotherly bond- but it was funny to look back when none of this would be possible if he wasn't so selfish and determined to wrangle that Frankenteen for his own, introducing his father and Carole at that parent meeting. If he was with Finn, he wouldn't be as close to Rachel... and next to Mercedes, Rachel was second in command for being one of his girl friend buddies. One of the people who he could make Broadway references to and she would 'get it' immediately, catching on more quickly than his best friend could. He had to give straight people credit- they tore gays down in the love department, but that didn't mean they couldn't show another wonderful path amongst the tatters of past relationships.
"Tricks? Ooh, I like. I'm completely intrigued. I trust that they're very good. But if you ever need help, a mind like yours and a mind like mind could be quite handy in matters of revenge." He waggled his eyebrows teasingly, hugging her back, completely missing her whole presence since the summer was drawing out to a close.
The change in weather was one thing- he saw people slowly switching out their shorts for capris- sun hates to beanies. It was like a Fall Fashion disease that was starting to spread. Oh how he hated and loved the beginning of the school year- he had barely finished his assignments thanks to Blaine's distracting form and texting and dates. Endless were the times when Steinbeck's East of Eden was cast aside into his beanbag chair next to his mini library in the corner of his room- forgotten for another couple of hourse before he would return with shopping bags and many kisses gained.
" 'Cedes, Now that I've been here more than a couple of minutes... I think this place is beautiful in its own way. I feel I can fully appreciate the design, architecture and style that is this place, even if I don't agree with what it thinks of me."

Mercedes smiled and giggled as she listened to Kurt talking about Blaine. He was adorable and she could clearly see that he was madly in love with him. Blaine was most likely the man of his life; she had no doubt about it and the love they shared was nothing but special, the thing they would always share together and no one could pull it out away from them. She envied Kurt on that point, hoping that it was going to be the same case with Sam somewhat. She had the feeling she’d have a good chemistry with him but would it be as great as Kurt and Blaine’s? She was only going to pray for it. A smile appeared onto her lips at the thought. “You two are made for each other, but if he ever hurts your feelings, I’ll be the first one to yell at him.” She said with a grin as she nudged her friends once more in a playful manner.
God, she missed spending time with Kurt; it had been so long it seemed since they ever had the time to have a conversation about anything. She was glad that it was finally happening at the right moment. She had so many things to tell him and not to add, they needed to plan their killer duet so they could impress the entire Glee club and have all of their little jaws dropped at how talented they grew to be in one summer (not that they weren’t already, they’d just grove the floor some more).
She smiled as Kurt hugged her back, speaking of revenge. “I know! We’re the killer team.” She joked winking at him. She knew it; the both of them put together wouldn’t be pretty if it ever game to revenge. She didn’t feel the need of adding anything else so she smiled at him, as she gazed up the beautiful paintings that were on the church’s ceiling. This was truly a beautiful place and the comment that Kurt made on it got her to smile as she returned her gaze on him.
“It is isn’t it? The place is always so peaceful, and it’s one great spot if you want to practice your singing.” She added with a grin as she shifted of sitting position so she could have a better sight of her friend. “You know, we could practice here for the duet! We have room and our voice will travel all around the church! People would enjoy it.” She said clasping her hands together as she stood up, pulling her hand out for Kurt to hold it so she could drag him to the church’s stage.
“This is one of the places where the acoustic is amazing.” She told him. “And we’d have enough room to dance, people would let us practice, they know me.” She assured him hoping that he would agree- after all, who would ever think of looking into a church to see if anyone is practicing an epic duet to sweep Rachel’s spot under the light away from the girl?
