personailty:
Mercedes has a confident and, sometimes, pushy personality. She is more than willing to be aggressive and speak her mind, unafraid of how others will take it. If provoked to true anger, she has demonstrated the ability to be violent, as demonstrated when she broke the window to Kurt's car, upon realizing that he had feelings for someone else. However, despite her strong street-like attitude, there is no denying that she is extremely a sensitive young girl, who wants to love and be loved.

Furthermore, Mercedes is unquestionably supportive of those around her, more than willing to give someone a shoulder to cry on and a helping hand, such as when Kurt came out, and when Quinn was thrown out of her house for her pregnancy. However, despite her big heart, she is very lonely, and at one point found herself fixating on food as a means to deal with that loneliness. She was confronted about this by Kurt, who set her up with one of the football players in the hopes of helping her deal with this issue. All she wishes is for someone to tell her that she’s beautiful and really thinking of it. She doesn’t want to date a hypocrite or not being true to herself, which was why she ended her relationship with Puck even if it wasn’t much counted as one. She has a kind heart even if she seems to be so strong hearted and stands often for herself but having someone pushing her to someone, won’t help. Not to add that despite the fact that she wants love, she barely sees what’s in front of her nose and perhaps, what she has been looking for had been right there since the beginning.

Mercedes stands on a height of 5’3 inches. Her skin is dark and she isn’t a slim girl and accepts it. She is known to have a unique style that she likes to show off. Her hair is black and most of the time kept down and straight though she does like to curl these once in a while to make a change. She simply likes to look good.
history:

Mercedes vowed her life into becoming a Diva and really, she is one and sometimes might act like one. She first auditioned for the Glee club singing the song Respect and succeeded it without any troubles. Soon enough however, she, Rachel, Artie, Kurt and Tina get disappointed because of the lack of solos which Mercedes wasn’t afraid to point out. It was always Rachel Berry and she wanted to be under the spotlight, as well as she wanted everyone else to have the chance to shine. When they go to see Vocal Adrenaline, she got shocked for the first time seeing how talented they were, seeing in them enemies and potential risks into destroying her future career. Though, it stays like that and Mercedes becomes the clothes designer for a short time as Will quits the Glee club since his wife is pregnant. Mercedes was filled with joy at the idea even if it didn’t last long.

There are a few more arguments with Rachel about the spot lights but it was the usual. Though, she began worrying about the fact that she would never get a boyfriend and started hanging out with her new friend and soon to be best friend Kurt. For quite some time, she had developed a crush on the boy, standing up for him and even ended up asking Kurt to go out but got proven wrong as he said that he was in love with someone else which was Finn. Mercedes however, thought that he was looking at Rachel and so smashed the front window of his car. The little fight soon ended as they both explained themselves and apologized.

Mercedes almost had the change to sing in front of the sectionals as she sang ‘And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going’. She almost had the chance to do it but it ended up being unsuccessful ever since the other competitors stole their choices of songs and had to improvise the rest.

Mercedes then decided to join the Cherrios along with Kurt because she was mainly pissed by the lack of solos that they could get, since, she was always a back up vocal and Rachel was always the star. They offered her to do musical performances while the rest would do routines. She agreed and soon found herself being on an horrible diet, since Sue told her that she had to lose ten pounds. She soon fainted from the lack of food and ended up being embarrassed at how she had let herself become. It was why during a pep rally, Mercedes sang Beautiful and most of the Cherrios and Glee club members joined her, proving everyone that she was proud of herself, no matter how she looked and no matter what they thought about her.

She also had a brief relationship with Puck, he wanting to be on top of the social hip and since Mercedes had all of the popularity, she agreed letting have them both have a brief fling. She ended up dumping him because she was not being true to herself and needed to be.

Mercedes also supported Quinn offering her to stay at her home as she was pregnant. They developed a friendship even though they had some fights here and there. She helped the girl at the nursery as she gave birth at the Regionals.

Mercedes considered the New Directions as a family and that the bullies could bring it all they wanted, they would always stand for each other no matter what they had to go through. She enjoyed Sunshine’s performance but got angry at Rachel’s behaviours after she saw that she joined Vocal Adrenaline.

When Kurt’s father was hospitalized, she found out about Kurt’s lack of faith. She wasn’t judging about his believes, but she thought that it would make him feel better if they prayed for his father. After a few moments of trying to convince him she managed to do so and brought him there, asking people to pray for him, which they did with sympathy.
More drama went by, she even sang a duet with Santana as the girl convinced her that their voices were going well together; she had to admit that it was true. She also got outraged as Sue removed the tater tots were banned from the school’s lunch menu and starts feeling left out with the new friendship that Kurt developed along with Blaine.
Mercedes got angry at Kurt, as he tried to pair her up with a football player. It nearly got her to the point of crying .
Later on, Mercedes called on a diva off as she challenged them, they sang the song ‘Take Me or Leave Me’. They were supposed to end up enemies but Sue’s plan didn’t work and they became friends again.
As the Regionals neared, she didn’t believe that original songs would work out and give them the shot of their lives to the Nationals. She wrote a song, Hell to the No, which was clearly the best song and the rest of New Directions thought that too. Will complimented the song but he said that it was a song they couldn’t used because it wasn’t what people were looking for at Regionals.
Then, Lauren told Mercedes that she was the most talented singer in Glee club and told her to demand for Respect, and Lauren became her manager. Later, Mercedes left the benefit after how she has been treated but Rachel caught up to her and attempted to persuade her to come back. After she returned and she decided that she will perform, but she had one final demand, she wanted New Directions to watch her perform. So she performed 'Ain't No Way' with the choir.
Mercedes, despite not wanting a boyfriend, was upset that no one had asked her for Prom, so Rachel convinced her to go with her and Sam. Later, she met up with Rachel, Jesse and Sam at Breadstix before the prom and discussed their expectations for the night.

While more drama went by, and they arrived at New York, Mercedes had hopes that she was going to win the Nationals. Though, as they lacked of professionalism, well, more like, as Rachel and Finn lacked of professionalism by kissing each other and had the group to fail, Mercedes was destroy; thus being one of her dreams to win this, it was why she decide to go her own way, trying to win this time, by herself and have a new destiny until next year was to start and they would return to the Glee club. Hopefully it wouldn’t be as horrible as it seemed to be.
